La Truffiere is located just outside the very small village of St Jean De Duras, in the Lot et Garonne, on the borders with the Gironde and the Dordogne. It is the last house along a small 2 km road that passes several farms, and stands alone in the middle of surrounding fields, with beautiful views in all directions. The countryside is full of arable land, sunflowers and vineyards.

The nearest airport is Bergerac (about 40 minutes drive). Bordeaux airport is about 1.5 hours drive, Marmande train station is convenient if coming from Paris and the nearest train station is Ste Foy La Grande. A car is essential when staying at the house.
